Abstract :
One of the motivations for virtualization technology is the desire to the develop new architectures to enhance virtual network system security. This paper develops a description of a multi-agent architecture and defined five types of security agents in the virtualization environment. The major functions of the agents are: virtual network traffic detection, different trust levels applications authentication, Hypervisor self-security monitor etc. Each of the security agents cooperates with others to protect the system security. This paper, based on Parallel-DEVS and Agent-DEVS proposes a virtualization security agent modeling and simulation approach named VSA-DEVS. A set of abstractions are formulated and their designs are realized in COSMOS which is a DEVS framework integrated visual model development, model configuration and automatic simulation data collection. A sample simulation study is conducted to illustrate the use of VSA-DEVS in understanding some key design and performance aspects of the virtual network security multi-agents system.
