Abstract :
Current generation sonar imaging systems use large aperture sensor arrays and wide processing bandwidths to resolve difficult targets. The aggregate processing load presented by real-time data acquisition, processing and display systems is high. The present paper discusses data acquisition systems, beamforming and detection processing and, briefly, some practical systems
