Abstract :
Reactive and harmonic current produced by electric railway seriously affects the power quality of power supply system. Based on the electric railway practice, this paper designed a shunt method in the side of voltage 27.5kV to solve reactive and harmonics current problem. Study a high-performance control method of cascade single phase STATCOM, which includes modulating signal calculation, individual voltage balancing control and PWM modulation strategy. Adopt this kind of STATCOM to compensate single phase load directly. Verify the control performances of the proposed method by MATLAB simulation analysis and practical engineering application. Supply a engineering application scheme for reactive compensation and harmonic suppression according to typical railway power supply system.
