Abstract
A monolithically-integrated silicon coherent receiver is reported for up to 56-Gb/s QPSK and 80-Gb/s 16-QAM signals. The receiver incorporates balanced germanium photodiodes, on-chip capacitors, and a novel hybrid design free of waveguide crossings.
