Abstract :
Tire irregular wear brings more vibration, noise and safety problems than normal wear, which is more dangerous and makes tire junked earlier than default life. This paper built one tire 3-dof theoretical model to deal with the tire irregular wear problems caused by tread vibration in numerical method. The model included the vibration caused by forced-displacement, velocity and displacement feedback. The visualized and numerical wear in tire circumference was calculated and illustrated. The sensitivity analysis of the model parameters with respect to wear was also studied. It is seen that tire tread vibration can induce irregular wear in tire circumference. The number of wear peaks in tire circumference is affected by vehicle velocity and tread first-order natural frequency. The results are well accordant to that of former works treated by lyapunov stability theory.
