Abstract :
Reliable and rapid network-wide safety message broadcasting is critical for safe driving and smart navigation, which would avoid instantaneous large-scale traffic congestion caused by vehicle accidents. Traditional network packet flooding algorithm would easily cause broadcast-storm, which leads to network congestion and increases transmission delay. Node location information and queue mechanism based on traditional flooding algorithm is introduced in this paper to present a new algorithm with Safety Message Broadcasting Scheme (SMBS) and QoS guarantee. In multi-application networks, SMBS would give priority to safety message and broadcast the message, which could ensure safety service quality. Analysis and evaluations show that SMBS is much more efficient than the traditional flooding scheme.
