Abstract :
A novel high efficiency drive strategy for the synchronous reluctance motors (Syn. RMs) considering the stator iron loss in transient conditions is presented in this paper. The optimal current ratio associated with d and q axis currents is analytically derived to drive the Syn. RM at maximum efficiency. The transient performance of the proposed method is demonstrated experimentally. The validity of the proposed scheme is confirmed with experimental results
