Abstract :
Internet has been widely used with many benefits as well as the drawbacks. One of the drawbacks is the unnecessary personal information disclosure. Personal information disclosure might be as a result of the information is disclosed by mistake by its collector such as the Internet service provider or marketing agencies. This information can also be disclosed by person who holds superior role in system e.g. system administrator. Internet users have paid special attention to this issue because of the fact that many of the operations and transactions that they carry out through the Internet could easily be recorded and collected. Thus, anonymous authentication has become a desirable feature to be added in any authentication system. In this paper, we presented some of the existing anonymous authentication mechanisms and propose a mechanism that addresses limitations of the existing mechanisms.
