Abstract :
In this paper, we study the relevant RFID ratified specifications within the EPCglobal Architecture Framework standards based on the innovation technology and research issues, standard integration, and application system. We propose a Virtual Reader (VR) supporting mechanism which is exploited in the RFID middleware conforming to EPCglobal Network. We design and implement the RFID middleware with a virtual reader supporting mechanism for applications integrating with the variety of RFID readers for data gathering and filtering based on the interfaces of Reader Protocol (RP), Reader Management (RM), and Application Level Events (ALE) in EPCglobal Network. Moreover, a flexible and adaptive simulator of virtual reader is also launched for applications in Web services, supply chain and logistics.
