  • Abstract
In simulation of military conflict, representation of command and control (C2) is very important. Because of the complexity of command and control models involved in reasoning, decision-making and planning and other high-level intelligent behavior, artificial intelligence (AI) plays an increasingly important role in these areas. This paper provides the main AI techniques and methods used to model command and control. Briefly introduces the concepts of artificial intelligence and command and control at first. The structure of command entity using agent technology which can explore the emergent properties of systems is described. In addition to agent, we also discuss the AI in the C2 cognitive models including situation assessment, planning, course of action selection and learning. All techniques help to enhance the validity and reliability of models.
