Abstract :
A methodology called FRED is introduced to represent the E-R diagrams in terms of textual formats called frames. The textual format of the FRED approach allows easy storage, retrieval, and modification and extends the entity representations, as well as the automatic creation of data dictionary, relational database schemas, and integrity testing. The motivation for developing the FRED methodology is given, and an example is provided to explain the methodology. Plans for future research in this area also presented
