Abstract :
Direct measurement of voltage phase angle is used to set up a comprehensive awareness system. Phase measurement units (PMU) therefore collect voltage and current measurements from far located substations of the highly meshed central European power system. By subsequent processing in a central data concentrator a useful on-line overview of system stability is produced.
