Study on conformance testing of hypertext transfer protocol

Hypertext transfer protocol is typical of application layer protocols in the TCP/IP stack. Conformance testing of the application layer protocols is very important to ensure the complete interconnection among Internet products and services from different vendors, but it had not presented a current topic so far in our country, while the research overseas concentrates on protocol analysis. This paper gives an introduction to the start-of-art testing activities of the TCP/IP protocols and does research on HTTP conformance testing, based on a kind of protocol integrated testing system (PITS). A generalized testing nature of application layer protocols is summarized finally.
