  • Abstract
Identification is the primary processing in information processing of industrial automation, such as, production control, supply chain management and securing traceability of inside and outside factory, manufacturing resources qualification, and design and manufacturing automation with CAD/CAM system, and other applications. Among them, manufacturing resource qualification is significantly important for maintain productivity and safety of production system. Almost every component and system of manufacturing resource is assumed to play critical roles in industries and operated for a long period, many of them longer than 10 years or more. Breakdowns and failures of manufacturing resource cause serious problems industries, in terms of productivity loss and safety damage. Their supply chains are complicated by various reasons, which are number of players and logistics routs among them, and globalization, for example. Their stable operation is critical for ensuring productivity and safety. In this context, product qualification of individual manufacturing resource widely installed is essential. The issues and the proposal of solutions on ubiquitous identification technology (Ubiquitous ID technology) from the aspect of manufacturing resource qualification are discussed.
