            Abstract :
A digital PI controller with velocity feedback was designed to reduce the effect of the cogging forces in the motion of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor. The resulting motion was substantially smoother and the measured velocity followed the reference value more closely despite physical deficiencies and a nonproactive control strategy
