Abstract
Fuzzy control involves the simulation of human decision-making, especially in capturing the approximate, inexact nature of human thought and language applied in controlling complex systems. The approach described in this paper outlines an application of the “linguistic variables” associated with “compatibility functions” and a set of linguistic control rules related by dual concepts of fuzzy implication and the compositional rule of inference to implement the evaluation of integrated manufacturing capability for the industrial companies of the same kind in decision-making phase. An evaluation model is developed and demonstrated in an example
