Abstract
A new approach to vectorization of scanned digitized images of engineering drawings is presented. By using traveling techniques to trace entities and square lattices for line thinning, skeleton points are extracted. Skeleton points are used to find continuous paths for scanned images. Topics in this work include traveling algorithms for line thinning and a deviation factor for drawing regeneration. There are also discussions about the required resolution to scan drawings, accuracy of reproduced images, and reliability of the process
