  • Abstract
    This paper presents a study on designing the interface between the home devices and the residential gateway controller. Together, the interface and the controller form the complete residential gateway (RG) which delivers broadband multiservices through a SONET over a DWDM access network. The design approach is to adopt commercially available components in order to achieve low cost. Much of the effort has been dedicated to study existing IC products to find the best fit for the system. These works are presented in the paper.
