Abstract :
A novel topology for single phase single stage isolated power factor correction (PFC) based on boost converter has been suggested in this paper. This PFC operates in continuous conduction mode (CCM) with constant switching frequency which injects minimum of harmonic into the power system. The leakage inductor in high frequency transformer of the insolated PFC causes voltage impulses which can damage the semiconductor switches. The proposed topology provides ZCS by control of the leakage inductor current, which suppress the aforementioned impulses, in addition of diminishing the switching losses. A simple predictive controller is used to calculate the switching times which reduces the sampling rate and complexity.
