Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a self-management model based on multi-level distributed intelligent agents and worm techniques. In this model, the computing system consists of many autonomic elements. Every autonomic element involves two parts: a functional unit and a management unit. Management units use agent and worm techniques. The major feature of this model is that autonomic elements can manage themselves given high-level objectives from administrators. Several key technologies involved in resource discovery, relationship among agents, and autonomic element upgrading are discussed.
