Abstract :
This paper reports that a novel chirped fiber Bragg grating (FBG), which is made of photosensitive polarization maintaining fiber, is made successfully in China for the first time. An experiment of an adaptive PDM compensator, in which this grating is used as a PDM compensator, is performed successfully. The value of PDM compensation is about 40 ps, and the effect is very good.
