Abstract :
An adaptive signal processor like an optical signal processor (OSP) increases the speed of processing transforms by many orders of magnitude. The architecture is reconfigurable and can be dynamically tailored to the required transform type. Unlike the other processor, it provides on-the-fly programmability, flexibility and upgradability. Adaptive signal processing systems typically consist of arrays of changing data that require complex processing to deliver real-time performance in response to changing conditions. The optical signal processor has integrated on one piece of silicon three logical components designed to meet conditions that discussed in this article. The architecture of a low latency symmetric multiprocessing memory system to cluster computing inside the core of the optical signal processor is discussed.
