Abstract
Fully connected or `bantering´ decentralized detection networks-that is, networks in which a decision is reached by iterated broadcasting by the constituent sensors of tentative local decisions, these being continually revised on the basis of group opinion-are examined. It is shown that such a network will also converge in an unsupervised manner to a consensus or common decision among all sensors, and that this process occurs very quickly even in large networks. Additionally, a modified structure which, at the expense of slower convergence, reaches the optimal (i.e. centralized) decision is presented
