Abstract :
The present paper focuses on the evaluation of the electromagnetic field generated in the Fresnel region by sources characterized by a generic and non-uniform current distribution. The method has been recently presented and successfully applied to linear arrays. The generalization and improvement achieved by the approach proposed in this paper requires the introduction of a more accurate model of the antenna and a global update of the method itself. The method presented in this paper offers a reliable and simple approach that allows the estimation of the field generated by a generic radiator. The proposed technique is first analyzed from a theoretical point of view and then validated by means of simulations.
