Abstract :
The application of a modern control bank-to-turn autopilot to the HAVE DASH II air-to-air missile is addressed. The application of control techniques to an asymmetric airframe with highly nonlinear aerodynamic characteristics is discussed. Included are a summary of the mission and airframe concept, a discussion of the bank-to-turn control technique, a description of the aerodynamic characteristic, and resulting stability margins. Results of a six-degree-of-freedom simulation verification study are also shown
