Abstract :
A LISP-based programming tool and underlying system architecture that support the expression of the knowledge concerning the measuring task to be solved on the mathematical, qualitative and heuristic level are presented. The knowledge representation formalism and the control schemes for knowledge manipulation are given. Programmability on three levels is implemented, providing a flexible way to cope with complex real-time measuring problems and matches to the requirements of programmers of different sophistication. A multilevel scheduler architecture which gives the background for integrating symbolic (and other AI originated) and numeric data processing algorithms under real-time operating conditions, even in distributed implementation, is described
