Abstract :
Fatigue damage induced in a polyurethane-based electrically conductive adhesive under a uniaxial cyclic tension was analysed. The electrical resistance was not found to be determined uniquely with the strain. The increase in the electrical resistance induced by stretching the adhesive is divided into the time-dependent component and the intrinsic increase. The viscoelastic recovery of the electrical resistance occurred when the tensile strain was kept at a constant value. In addition, the intrinsic recovery of the electrical conductivity can be induced by annealing the fatigue-damaged adhesive.
