Abstract
The paper describes an approach for workflow-centered document management by means of integrating document analysis tools and workflow management systems. From the document analysis point of view these tools are well-suited to bridge the existing gap between paper and workflow and therefore lead to increased efficiency. The authors present an overview on recent developments in document analysis, but also take a critical look at the limits of these techniques
