Abstract :
Two modified schemes of the recursive least squares (RLS) channel estimation algorithm are proposed. The proposed techniques employ a method for adjusting the adaptive weight (forgetting factor) of the RLS algorithm to exploit the time correlation of the channel response to improve the estimation accuracy and tracking capability. To verify the effectiveness of the algorithms, the proposed techniques are used for estimating the forward link channel response of MC-CDMA systems. Simulation results show that our proposed algorithms outperform the customary RLS algorithm channel estimation scheme over the frequency selective fading channel.
