Abstract :
This article presents an alternate approach towards design and implementation of GSM based remote device controller using SIM548C. An analysis had been performed on early remote controller systems and recent technological advancements to integrate advantages, and avoid drawbacks of early developments. This analysis and possible future evolution of long distance controller systems consented to choose GSM Module-SIM548C including its GPRS and GPS features, AVR series MCU-ATmega8, and DTMF Receiver - MT8870DE towards a new approach of similar, but advanced development. Brief design of the developed prototype based on DTMF over GSM network is presented here. Along with existing applications of long distance controller systems including but not limited to home/office/industry/mining equipments control ability, a direction is provided with an epigrammatic future usage and implementation of such systems to control and track moving objects (like - vehicles, robots).
