Abstract :
A simple three-segment model quantifying the cross-correlation coefficient of shadowing effects in multiple satellite systems for "street canyons" is presented. The assumption of uncorrelated blockage in two satellite-to-mobile links is not always accurate: positive or, even negative correlation may exist. Shadowing cross-correlation information is needed in the assessment of multi-satellite system availability.
