  • Abstract
A new flexible design method for obtaining M band nonuniformly oversampled multirate filter banks with integer sampling factors is developed. First, we consider a bandpass signal decimation process on a channel of multirate filter banks. In order to reduce aliasing sufficiently, nonuniform oversampling may be introduced. A decision procedure for the decimation factors is given. Next, by introducing weighted Lp norms as a performance function in an iterative nonlinear optimization design, nonuniformly oversampled multirate filter banks with arbitrary frequency resolution may be designed. Our approach provides considerable improvements in the quality of frequency responses for analysis and synthesis filters
