Abstract
This new multichannel medium access control (MAC) protocol for multihop wireless networks can guarantee end-to-end quality of. service (QoS). Conventional IEEE 802.11 DCF can be used for multihop wireless networks because it is based on CSMA/CA, but it can not guarantee QoS. On the other hand, IEEE 802.11 PCF or HiperLAN/2 can guarantee QoS, but it is useful only on single-hop networks. In simulations, the new protocol demonstrated a high throughput with low delay and could support end-to-end QoS in wireless multihop networks.
