            Abstract :
J-TEXT COntrol, Data Access and Communication (CODAC) is an advanced control system designed for J-TEXT Lab. In J-TEXT CODAC, some critical functions is implemented by some specialized Plant System. Global Interlock System (GIS) is a specialized Plant System of J-TEXT CODAC, which is responsible for coordinate the Plant Interlock Systems (PIS), in order to protect the experiment personnel occupational safety and instrument & equipment property safety. This paper gives a preliminary design of GIS. GIS is implemented with NI CompactRIO (CRIO). The FPGA module integrated in CRIO is used to handle input and output signals. The Real-Time controller in CRIO is responsible for accessing the EPICS network and configuring the onboard FPGA. Although currently the GIS is a small-scale prototype, the core functions, like fault handling and EPICS compatibility, are achieved. Now the GIS has been deployed in J-TEXT and serves in daily experiment.
