  • Abstract
Most of the wind power systems are using induction generator (IG) for conversion of mechanical power available from wind turbine (WT) to electrical power. To investigate the dynamic response of the wind power system equipped with an IG, this work presents simulation study of an IG-based WT for various operating conditions. The simulation study has been performed on wind gusts, ramps, and noise components, step change and random changes in wind speed and fault conditions in the grid to which the wind power system is connected. The dynamic response of the system obtained from the simulation has been analysed and presented. It also considers fault conditions on the grid to which the WT generator is connected.
