Abstract :
Access to frequency spectrum and orbital slots has become an essential requirement towards the successful implementation of a satellite system. Access to Non-Planned bands spectrum is on a first-come, first-served basis. In some parts of the geosynchronous orbit and in traditional Fixed-Satellite Services (FSS) frequency bands, the situation is very crowded with many existing or filed FSS networks. In such portions of the orbit, access may not be possible in the particular frequency band of choice. Alternatively, the planned FSS bands (Appendix 30B) that guarantees access for the Malaysian Administration (MLA-GOV), provided that the proposed network is consistent with the Plan, national in coverage for C-band and Ku-Band satellite services. To characterize interference phenomena between the two satellites networks, carrier to interference (C/I) ratios are evaluated. In this paper, C/I analysis between MLA-GOV and Eutelsat EXB-76E was presented. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that there will be potential interference caused by the MLA-GOV network.
