Abstract :
To fully utilize the tokamak facility, it is necessary to allow researchers to remotely participate in the tokamak experiments via the internet. To be able to control the operation of the tokamak is one of the key. In this paper, the design and implementation of the remote control system for the J-TEXT tokamak is presented. To make this system flexible, instead of just providing software or web site that controls the tokamak, we choose to expose a series of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) as web services. All the operation of the J-TEXT tokamak is wrapped in these services. The remote control web site is based on these services, and users can easily build their own web sites or remote control rooms which consume these services to operate the J-TEXT tokamak. An authorization and authentication system is included so the users will not be able to consume the services which they are not supposed to. The remote control system is EPICS compatible and has been integrated into the J-TEXT CODAC System.
