Abstract
In this study, the Regional Homogeneity (ReHo) approach was used to evaluate the potential post-effect of acupuncture at taichong (Liv3), in comparison with that of a sham point, on the resting state of the human brain. Significant regional connectivity differences were found at multiple brain locations. These detected differences provided additional imaging evidence of the existence of acupuncture post-effect for previously reported brain regions such as middle temporal gyrus, medial front gyrus, precentral and inferior frontal gyri. In addition, brain regions that are specific to Liv3 such as supramarginal gyrus, postcentral gyrus and precuneus were indicated in this study.
