Distribution line hazards that affect reliability and the conductor repairs and solutions to avoid future damage
Abstract :
This paper briefly discusses some of the external forces that act upon a typical distribution system. These forces can cause damage, either immediately or over long periods of time, which in turn affect the systems reliability and integrity. This paper examines methods in repairing conductor damage and protection measures that can be implemented to establish a higher level of system reliability. Because higher stresses occur at the support locations where the cable is constrained, this paper concentrates on damage repair in these areas.
