Abstract
Neo-robust control is a new theory proposed by the authors, which utilizes both the gain and the phase information of uncertainty in robust control design. In this paper, we focus on the analysis of robust performance. Specifically, we analyze the robust sensitivity and the robust bandwidth in detail. Further, disclosed is the difference in the achievable robust performance between systems with in-phase uncertainty and out-of-phase uncertainty. Finally, it is revealed, both theoretically and via the IEEJ HDD benchmark, that by using the phase information of uncertainty, much higher robust performance can be achieved than the existing small-gain and passivity approaches.
