Abstract :
A small dual-band R-shaped planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) is introduced for vehicular application. Utilizing this unique geometry dual-frequency operation is achieved with a single feed. The proposed antenna operates in the 237-240 MHz and the 450-500 MHz bands with bandwidths of 15% and 4.3% respectively within VSWR of 2:1. Parametric data pertaining to the antenna impedance and VSWR are presented along with representative radiation patterns.
