Abstract :
A two-dimensional scattering problem of a circular cylinder buried beneath a rough surface is analyzed through the Cylindrical Wave Approach. The fields scattered by the cylinders are sums of cylindrical waves and the concept of plane-wave spectrum is employed, to take into account reflection and transmission through the interface. The analytical expressions of the fields are derived from the small perturbation method, with a first order approximation for the reflection and transmission coefficients. Results can be obtained both in near-and far-field region, for TE and TM polarization.
