  • Abstract
This paper continues previous research into radiation hazard assessment of BBC World Service HF transmission sites in accordance with ICNIRP guidelines. It focuses on possible methodologies for the analysis of human exposure from such sites. A high resolution full body human voxel phantom from the `Virtual Family´ was illuminated using plane-wave radiation, and being positioned in the near-field zone of a realistic HF curtain antenna array. The mutual relationship between the electromagnetic near-field of high power transmission sites and human body´s whole body SAR and associated induced current densities have been studied. The phantom´s whole body SAR results are compared with those published by the UK Health Protection Agency (HPA). A hybrid computational technique has also been explored.
