Abstract
A novel broadband linearization technique was presented in this paper. It significantly reduced the third-order-intermodulation (IM3) of an amplifier. The proposed approach was implemented in a GaAs HBT Darlington pair amplifier MMIC design. The measured results of the integrated MMIC showed that more than 17dB IM3 reduction or more than 8.5dB improvement of output third-order-intercept point (OIP3) was achieved at 2GHz. From 1GHz to 4GHz the average OIP3 improvement was more than 5dB.
