Abstract
This work introduces a unified cap model, implemented in ANSYS, to the field of ceramic breeder pebble bed thermomechanics. The developed continuum numerical model has been validated and applied to predict the temperature/stress-dependent creep phenomena and stress relaxation of Li4SiO4 pebble bed, and the temperature/stress distributions of a DEMO-like breeder unit. In addition, considering the essential of experimental data for deriving the constitutive equations and for model benchmarking, we designed and conducted oedometric compression, creep and stress relaxation tests.
