Abstract :
Owing to the use of ion source accelerators and RF facilities for plasma heating, high voltage and large currents are co-existed in ITER like fusion devices, such as CFETR (Chinese Fusion Engineering Testing Reactor) and EU DEMO. How to keep their electric safety is discussed. This paper reviews the tokamak experiences on electric fault protection and related snubber theory to cure these faults. A 0.6 MV testing facility at Institute of Plasma physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences is being set up to develop related fusion power supplies together with their protection system implemented with reliable snubbers for CFETR.
