Abstract
In this paper, a coplanar waveguide-to-rectangular waveguide transition using the meander slotline is proposed. The proposed transition can achieve 34% 15-dB fractional bandwidth, which almost covers the whole X-band (8.2-12.4 GHz). Besides, since the meander slotline is incorporated with the coplanar strip, the transition size can be reduced. As compared with our previous work [9], the coplanar waveguide-to-rectangular waveguide transition using the meander slotline has 10% reduction in the transition size and 6% reduction in the 15-dB fractional bandwidth as a trade off. In order to verify the simulation results, a back-to-back coplanar waveguide-to-rectangular waveguide transition using the meander slotline is fabricated and measured where the simulation results are in good agreement with the measurement results.
