Abstract :
The ITER radial soft x-ray camera is an indispensable diagnostic component used to measure the x-ray radiated from the plasma, the measurements enabled by soft x-ray (SXR) diagnostics in Tokamak range from monitoring the impurity content and distribution to the characterization of transport and even to the assessment of the plasma current profile. In this paper, the conceptual design of the SXR camera is demonstrated, depending on the finite element method, electromagnetic analyses have been performed in view of the physical operational conditions, which are carried out to assess the magnetic field distribution and the influence of eddy current on the concerned components. Both major disruption (MD) and vertical displacement event (VDE) have been taken into consideration and the subsequent static stress analyses have also been performed to validate the strength and rigidity of design, the results indicate the design is reasonable and feasible.
