Abstract :
In this paper we calculate the homoclinic bifurcation set for large damping phase-locked loop with a five segment piecewise linear phase detector via Melnikov´s method. We can obtain results with small numerical errors, since we can calculate homoclinic orbits analytically by using the piecewise-linear method. Finally, we consider the extinction mechanism of the running chaotic attractor
