Abstract :
This paper provides a brief overview from the technical perspective of rationales for the exposure criteria adopted in guidelines and safety standards aimed at protection of people from excessive exposure to radiofrequency and microwave radiation. For completeness, the ANSI/IEEE and ICNIRP recommendations and guidelines, SAR limits and standards, and dosimetry specific issues are also briefly addressed.
